Bad Language’s Second Birthday

On Wednesday 28th November, Bad Language turns two!

To celebrate, we’ve put together an incredible line-up featuring some of our personal highlights of the year. Rodge Glass performed at our open mic early 2012, reading from his novel ‘Bring me the Head of Ryan Giggs’, we helped him launch it in April at the first of our Waterstones events. He’ll be performing alongside writer Anneliese Mackintosh who recently featured at our stage at the Carefully Planned All-Dayer in October. At the same performance where we first saw Rodge, our headliner was the rather fantastic Socrates Adams who will also be appearing. He read from his debut novel (longlisted for the Not the Booker award) ‘Everything’s Fine’. This year he has seen that book released across the pond, and has starred in award winning film ‘Wizard’s Way’. Our final personal highlight is the incredible Claire Massey who launched two chapbooks through publisher Nightjar Press with us earlier in the year. She has been hard at work with Lancaster Litfest and her haunting prose is not something to miss.
But it wouldn’t be Bad Language without some amazing open-mic performers. Alongside all of Bad Language performing, there will be performances from:

Sian Rathore

Clare Conlon

Matthew P Lomas

Ste Price

Claire Symonds

Everything kicks off at 7:30 at The Castle Hotel on Oldham Street. It’s free entry, so get there early to grab a seat. Bring balloons.
