Bad Language at the Portico, May 15

Bad Language at the PorticoWatch the literary stars come out at night, for one evening only, with Manchester After Hours Presents Bad Language at the Portico.

We’ll bring our super special brand of live literature to the historic Portico library on May 15th for the Manchester After Hours festival, Manchester’s take on the national Museums At Night festival.

Our special pop-up night featuring some of the best local fiction and poetry performance
talent:

> Novelist, poet and post-punk performer Rosie Garland;

> The canal laureate and former director of National Poetry Day, Jo Bell;

> Comic Glasgow novelist and editor Rodge Glass;

> South African novelist Marli Roode, author of Call It Dog.

Hosts for the evening will be Joe Daly and Fat Roland.

We’re incredibly excited to take the back-room pub atmosphere of our regular Bad Language night and bring it to the austere and beautiful environs of the neo-classical Portico library. For live literature to be accessible, it’s all about creating an atmosphere: the Portico is a spine-tingling venue. We’re in for a very special night of high quality live poetry and fiction.
